dailce Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 How can I Show Subcategory Products in a Main Category? For instance, you have the following main category: CARS (Main) RED CAR (Product) Green CAR(Product) Blue CAR (Product) ---> Sports Cars (Sub Category) ----------------> PORSHE (Product) ---> Slow Cars (Sub Category) ----------------> PORSHE (Product) Clicking on the Main Category will display the products in that category and at the top it will display links to the subcategories. What I want to do is: If you click on the main Category ALL products in the main category and subcategories are displayed: CARS (Main) RED CAR (Product) Green CAR(Product) Blue CAR (Product) PORSHE (Product) PORSHE (Product) Plus you can still narrow down the products by click the usual subcategory boxes at the top. Anyway to do this, can someone advise me where to start? Thanks
jpweber Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Yes ... download and install this contribution: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,885/ Then your subcategories will show up without having to click on a category. Good luck. dailce Posted December 13, 2006 Author Posted December 13, 2006 No thats not what I mean. I know how to do that for the menu, what I want is to show the ALL "products" to be displayed when you click on the main category. So If I click on main category in the menu it will display ALL products in the main category and ALL products in the subcategories, AND it will show links at the top to narrow down the products by Subcategory. If I have: CARS (Main) RED CAR (Product) Green CAR(Product) Blue CAR (Product) ---> Sports Cars (Sub Category) ----------------> PORSHE (Product) ---> Slow Cars (Sub Category) ----------------> GM (Product) Clicking on Main Category will show all the products and subcategories at the top Like this: --->CARS (Main) ---> Sports Cars (Sub Category) ---> Slow Cars (Sub Category) RED CAR (Product) Green CAR(Product) Blue CAR (Product) PORSHE (Product) GM(Product) Now click on the subcategory, ie click ---> Slow Cars (Sub Category) will then display with main Category at top with subcategories and list all the products in that category: --->CARS (Main) ---> Sports Cars (Sub Category) ---> Slow Cars (Sub Category) GM(Product) It would make it easier to navigate I think. I just don't know where to start.
