Hi Guys,

I've searched and hunted through all the files and I can't find the code to change the period for which products are listed as "new".

i.e. I want to change the period so that only products added within the last 30 days are listed as "New Products".

Can anyone shed any light please?

Cheers,

Steve

It seems that new products added are highlighted by month, not within a 30-day time period. There may be a contribution for this because this option would be of benefit. Short of deleting the product and reloading it, have you considered going into the products database table and adjusting your dates (p.products_date_added field)?

Yes. I've done all that but I still get ALL the products listed in "products_new.php" (as opposed to the infoBox "What's new for the month of") It makes no difference even if the product added date is changed to several years ago - it still gets listed as a new product in "products_new.php". That's why I can't figure it out. There seems to be no configuration for it anywhere that I can see.

I guess there's another table field (maybe "update") that pushes the product in a "new" state. Beyond that, I'm of no further use to you. Sorry I couldn't help :(

In searching through the osCommerce documentation for something else, I came across this article which may help you:

When products are put into the store in one month they are suppose to be removed when the next month comes but they stay in the new products listings from the beginning of input. These older products can be disabled to not show up by using the codes below...

Hi Jon,

Thanks for that. It's exactly what I was looking for. I would have eventually worked it out for myself , but why re-invent the wheel huh?

Cheers,

Steve
