Search not working

Despite my efforts, I cannot seem to get the search bar on the front page (advanced search page works fine) functioning correctly. Would anyone be able to help me with this? I can provide access to all the php files if neccessary.

 

Are modules able to cause these problems? Becuase I recall the search working correctly when I had first installed it.

 

Any help is MUCH appreciated!

It seems that when I press enter to run the search, it works fine. However, the button does not.
