configure.php error message on homepage

Hi I am having real trouble getting the following error message to disappear from my site.

 

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/l2house/public_html/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

 

I have tried changing the permission to 444, 400 , 600 to name but a few but still the text doesnt dissapear I have also now encountered a problem with the ftp software not being able to edit the permission the ftp software hangs im currently using coffecup ftp and suggestins

Don't use Coffee Cup - it's total crap. Use either FileZilla or WS FTP Home.
