Changing default category in home page

One question I cannot seem to pin down:

 

I've created a product category for "Sales & Specials".

I want this to be shown on the home page instead of the default "newly modified products" in the store.

 

Is there an easy way to specify a product category page as 'home'...?

 

I thought about just modifying the htaccess file, or duping that category as index.php?

 

Any thoughts or suggestions before I start altering code?
