renesam Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I've set everything up and it seemed to work fine. each component works. However, when I look at the site in Firefox it says osCOmmerce on the top left hand where my site name should be (coded something) How do I fix that? There is an error message that says "i can write to your configure file, please set user permission", but I've set the indicated file to 640 owner: read, write, execute, group/public: read. How do I fix that? www.forthetrades.com/home Thanks in advance for helping Rene

Thanks, NG I've tried it, i can't make changes through the FTP, but the same message comes up on the site: www.fothetrades.com any other suggestions? this didn't happen the first time I tried to set up osCommerce Rene
usernamenone Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I am not sure exactly what you are talking about as your site url does not seem to work but I think you are saying that your configure.php files are wrightable and that your meta tag information needs changed. 1 download FileZilla a free ftp client and ftp to your site. Right click on your catalog/includes/configure.php and your catalog/admin/includes/configure.php files. Make sure only the wrightable boxes are checked ( choose properties). 2 oscommerce in the title bar is in coming from your store name. Change it by you.com/storename/admin-- then configuration - my store I've tried it, i can't make changes through the FTP, but the same message comes up on the site: www.fothetrades.com any other suggestions? this didn't happen the first time I tried to set up osCommerce Rene
