Helter Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I'm trying to setup osCommerce on a new server, with a new installation, and I'm running into a big problem right out of the gate. When I put in the database information and click "continue", I get the following error. "A test connection made to the database was NOT successful. The error message returned is: Table 'temp' already exists Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings." The Database is being used by other scripts on the site, and clearly the "Temp" db is already in existence, but it won't let me set a table prefix in order to avoid this. The option just isn't there. Where did it go? What's up with this?
StuartBarnes Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I have a similar problem. The on-line documentation shows an option for specifying a database prefix, but the actual installation doesn't give you the opportunity. I installed osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update 060817 into a fresh database. The documentation that comes with the install files doesn't show it as an option either (dated 051112). Ultimately, I want to install multiple osCommerce sites using different domains but using the same database (my host only allows a single MySQL database). Prefixing the tables seemed a way of doing this.
