EdEllks Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 I'm looking to list albums of wedding pictures using osCommerce. Each size would be a different price, and different weddings could potentially yield different enlargement prices. The only way that I can find to list multiple prices for a given item is by using the Product Attributes. However, it seems that it only works for a single item. Is there a way to create a "group" for a particular type of Product Attribute and apply it to a number of catalog items?
EdEllks Posted September 23, 2002 Author Posted September 23, 2002 I'm looking to make pricing part of this Product Attribute group, so I don't have to go and enter pricing for upwards of 400 pictures.
Ajeh Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 Checking my list of things to do ... yeps ... it's on there. :D However there are a few things ahead of it so I do not know when it will be done. If you can provide more details of your specific needs I will try to incorporate what I can into it.
EdEllks Posted December 27, 2002 Author Posted December 27, 2002 I apologize for taking so long to respond. Here are a couple of quick screens that I threw together to help solidify the request.
Ajeh Posted December 27, 2002 Posted December 27, 2002 You might peek at the Attributes Sorter and Copier I am working on and see if this would make life easier for you when adding attributes. http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...0260&highlight=
EdEllks Posted December 27, 2002 Author Posted December 27, 2002 I will check this out. Will it allow updating a particular price across all products? For example, I have 8 available print sizes and want to change the price for one of the sizes "across the board." I see that you are also in Ohio. Out of curiosity, what part?
Ajeh Posted December 27, 2002 Posted December 27, 2002 I am just outside of Cleveland. At the moment this is an all or nothing ... unless you are creative ... 8) You could make a product with just the one attribute to be updated and tell it not to delete all attributes and to then to overwrite duplicate attributes to change the attribute price in a whole category. This will go either by product to product or product to category.
EdEllks Posted December 27, 2002 Author Posted December 27, 2002 Thanks for the quick reply. I'm also near Cleveland. In Niles, specifically. I guess I just wanted this to be added to a "wish list", as I would imagine it would be very helpful to anyone selling different prices for different versions of the same basic product. Whether it be photography, a shirt or whatever. Thanks again for the insight!
Ajeh Posted December 27, 2002 Posted December 27, 2002 Well ... I just set a product to include Color Red for $19 and had it overwrite a whole category of products and all the Color Red are now $19 regardless of what they were prior to the Copy and Overwrite. This seems to really speed things up as far as updating a price goes.
