How to update to 060817

OS Commerce newbie here.

I'm trying to help a customer of mine that's having problems not getting orders through OS Commerce. It looks like we need to upgrade to Update 060817 but this is not an automatic update.

I've downloaded the update to my hard drive but I am not a programmer and need some help in how to install/run it on the server without causing more problems.

Can someone walk me through the process if that's not asking too much?

Do I just go through the files one by one and change the code? Do I need to do so in any special order? Is there a script available anywhere that will do it for me?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Oh ok, gotcha.

I don't know that the store version you be your problem.

Has it just stopped working, or never worked?

Is it an established store, or aa new one?
