Can anyone enlighten me. Thanks Paul ************************** gosh- that would sure explain a lot for my own website. I should easily be ranked on the first page of google, but at 20. I have a niche and I have worked very hard to use keywords as a tool, although I could do better with links and additional web pages. I am curious about what some will say about your question. Also- if I may.....how does one add a page to their site? Sheree

There are some contributions that you should install, like Header Tags, and about 8-10 others that should be installed for best results, but once optimized properly, there is no reason why your shop can't reach a top ten position. I've optimized many myself and they all rank well. I have very carefully chosen words and phrases, and used headertags for each of my pages. What are the other "vital" things one must do to achieve maximum optimisation? I have installed the Google Sitemaps, Google XML and Google SEO Assistant for submissions to google. I have installed AllProducts contributions I have ensured that my words are appropriately placed in the pages, with H1 headers for key words etc.. I have updated my robots.txt files However I have not done anything to my urls, I believe this is essential, Ultimate SEO URLs by Chemo seems to be a highly active contribution, but I'm not sure whether this is the right one. What else am I missing to enable the best optimisations? Your experienced comments are well received by all who read these posts. :)
Jack_mcs Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I have listed them many times in various threads and a more detailed description can be found by searching. They are all not vital but will all assist in improving your ranking. They are Ultimate SEO, Dyanmic Sitemap, Links Manager, Spiders update, Froogle Feeder (see my other posts as to why), besides the ones you mention.
