Guest Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 I would like to hear from others on the best ways to get payments? I would like to use something low cost. I been using paypal.com but I dont like my clients signing up for paypal.com
Guest Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 Check out propay.com.. I use them. The problem with this however, is that you have to manually enter the charges, unless you pay $395 for an XML solution.. The prices are very affordable.. compares to paypal I think.. but no registration is required... Now.. when I signed up.. there was no signup fees now they charge like 35 bux I think... Hey I got nothing to gain from you signing up, but it is just a suggestion.. 8) Hope this helps
greysun Posted September 24, 2002 Posted September 24, 2002 I use paypal in conjunction with 2checkout. Alot of people like paypal so I want to give them the option to use it and for those who dont have or dont want to have an account with paypal can choose 2checkout. 2checkout works similar to paypal. There is a 1 time setup fee of about $50 and from that point on they charge you a small fee and a small percentage per sale as I believe paypal does. The biggest advantage to 2checkout is that no account is required by your customers. they just type in there payment info from your cart including credit card info and they are sent to 2checkouts site to confirm the sale. once they click the final 2checkout button they are sent back to your site along with there sale info. You can even enter there info manually if need be for phone orders and such. 2checkout recommends you dont make this part of your regular business practice though, and you can even accept digital checks although that feature doesnt work with oscommerce yet. Hopefully someone will figure out a way to do it. I should have been a 2checkout sales rep LOL anyway I use it on my site. If you would like to see it you can find it at www.bullislandmerchandising.com from here click the link for the New Cart If you like I could even put my account in demo mode so you can run through a test sale to see how it works. E-mail me if you want to try it out. btw I do have a banner to 2checkout in my cart if you want to see more info and I have a mod in the contributions section to add a banner on your site if you like once you join Hope this helps. sorry so long winded
NealPomper Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Check out propay.com.. I use them. Hey I got nothing to gain from you signing up, but it is just a suggestion.. 8) Hope this helps Greetings, Currently I use a gateway that's costong me a bundle and a merchant account that's just too expensive. I WANT ProPay! Looks like a great solution for me! You have the experience, so tell me... How do you set up osCommerce to capture the CC for later manual processing with Propay? Do you need extra code? Extra tables and columns in mySQL or is there a SIMPLE solutoin? Thanks much!
IHTurbo Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 In the PayPal preferences you can make it optional to have a PayPal account. Check out the Integration manual at http://www.paypal.com/en_US/AU/pdf/PP_Webs...rationGuide.pdf Regards, IHTurbo
