edschaum Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 Hi, I'm getting an error when trying to use the US Post Office module during checkout. I applied for and received my acct number/password and added it to OSCommerce, but when I try to use the Test Server, I get the following error during checkout (instead of getting a price): Error: -2147219040SOLServerTest;SOLServerTest.CallRateDllThis Information has not been included in this Test Server. I'm uncertain if this is a Postal Service error, or a problem with the my setup. Anyone else encounter this? thanks, Ed
Guest Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 Hi.. the problem you are having is in fact with the USPS.. you actually need to call the post office to get the username/password activated on their "real" production server.. the test server will only allow you testing to make connections... will not produce results. (at least that is what the post office customer service told ME ).. But once I got my account activated.. everything worked fine.. Just give them a call.. you should find the phone #.. on your email, or USPS.com website... Hope this helps...
edschaum Posted September 23, 2002 Author Posted September 23, 2002 Yup, that did it. I wasn't sure if that error message was indicating that I was connecting to the test server successfully or not. I called, told them I connected to the test server successfully, and wanted to be put on the production server. They turned my account on, sent me the production url, and waddya know, it works just fine! Many thanks, Ed
Guest Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 I am glad to hear that.. :D Don't you just love the osCommerce forums?
lapo4ka18 Posted December 22, 2002 Posted December 22, 2002 hey guys, where should I put this production url?
Guest Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 :D Yes, I love forums. Here it is a few years later and I have the same problem. Well, tomorrow I will call USPS and activate the production server. Hope it's still the fix. OSC is the bomb! Thanks

I've had a username/password for USPS.com for some time - they'll just use that information and then my USPS shipping calculations will then work on my site (in theory), ? I am testing my store right now...added a product to the cart, and received this error: An error occured with the USPS shipping calculations. If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner. Email: [email protected]

wenonae Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 hey guys, where should I put this production url? I just figure out the answer to that question. That url is already included in the *.php file. You don't need to modify it. Simply switch from 'test' to 'production' in the admin center shipping module. :)
