why can't you upload your image files? You can point your program to the proper location if you know where the path is. www.yoursite.com/catalog/images/your_image_name.extention. However you need to fix the issue of not being able to upload. Do you know how to set permissions on files?

yes permissions have been set, ive tried it at the recomended 775 and even 777, dosnt fix the prolem

i know where i owuld need to upload files i know the the full names of the images, i was just wondering if there was a way to give them a set url instead of using the browse feature since i cant get it to work properly and changing the permissions seems to be the only thing anyone can give me adivce on, which i had already tryed myself, heh.

is it just the image and not the discription? Not sure I understand the whole issue. What files have you edited? Did you try to edit your product_info.php and messed up a code? I would download my admin configure.php file slip it in a fresh admin file and upload the fresh copy. But that is just how I do things if early in the game and sounds like you are just getting started. I also use FileZilla a free ftp client to upload.

basicly when i try to upload an image for a product or an image for a my catagoryies, it just simply stats "warning file not uploaded" thats it. everything else works fine and it wont give me any other error. i havnt edited anything but a few layout things and never touched any page like that.

what do you mean a fresh admin file?

do i need to redownload osc and take that file out and replace it with the one on me server? (want to clarify completly before i go messing with files like that, lol)

as far as ftp program i already use one i like and that dose everything(ws_ftp if your curious)

There is something wrong somewhere.

What are the properties of the file you are trying to upload.

I believe the file extentions have to be jpg gif or png and nothing else, also there may be a image size issue if the image is to large.

the cartagory image is 100 x 57 px and 2.69 KB

you can see now why i was hopeing htere was just a manual way todo it.. maybe that would be a good feature for it in the future, lol
