Hello, the following problem has kept me busy for hours now...:

On one PC I already have a working OSC shop installed. I'd like to transfer this shop to a different PC now, and this is where my problem lies.

1) Installed XAMMP - works.

2) Clean install of OSC, works

3) Tried to copy&paste the catalog and database - no good :'(

Can anybody please help me with this issue?

You also need to fix the two configure.php files (/includes/configure.php and /admin/includes/configure.php (or you can probably get away with using the ones from the fresh install if it is getting copied over the fresh install directory). Just make sure you don't get them both mixed up, they are completely different.

I'm sorry, but i cannot offer Free support via PM etc, and osCommerce forums prohibit me from putting any reference to paid support in my signauture.

However viewing my profile may provide links to my website or something like that which you may find useful.

hello Rob and thank you for your reply. Isn't this file included within the 'catalog' folder? Still being noobish at OSC I'm not sure on what files / folders need to copied or edited.

So far, I've copied the Catalog folder as well as the Databasefolder from within MySQL to the fresh install. I can't seem to connect to the DB though.

 I still cant get this to work....

No worries mate.

Yes, the files are in the catalog folder, but you need to modify the information that is contained in them as it differs between each machine.

Does that make sense?

It does somewhat - a user just pointed me in the same direction. It's not just copying the files, but maybe the paths have to be modified  - an aspect I haven't thought of so far...

If you post the contents of your configure files, I can help point out what you need to change.
