jeffskol Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I want to be able to work with my osCommerce site offline. I'd like to be able to make edits and such offline on my computer and then upload the entire site to my ISP. Any recommendations on how to do this? I'm sure there is some information out there for setting this up. Also, I'm a bit new to the game. What are some good web editing tools? Frontpage?
MagickWomyn Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I use Xampp on my local machine. Works well for me. You'll want something to compare files for editting, like WinMerge. Also you'll want a Php editor like Crimson Editor. A good ftp program is a must or use the filezilla included in Xampp as a start. Frontpage tends to add extra code and can cause problems, seems Dreamweaver is highly thought of by people.
