ladyejan Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I have been getting weird postage calcuations from my set up with the USPS - a recent order to be shipped inside of the United States for six items should have came up about 10.50 - instead it charged the client 36.00! I have been sending notes to my clients and refunding the postage amounts - but I'm getting a lot of people sending me irate notes saying that they won't buy because of the postage rates. Can someone give me an idea of how I can fix this? I've tried manipulating the weight rates - but a test of this same order only brought down the shipping to 26.00 - when I set all the weights at zero. Also the package tare weight is currently set to zero. Thanks to anyone who can help me solve this. Janyce Engan www.vpll.org
triode Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Hello, I have the same problem, and it is much worse for overseas orders. I end up having to refund a lot of customers, and in fact I know I have lost a lot of customers due to the high shipping costs (they get to the checkout then just leave as the shipping is twice what everyone else charges)... I would truly be interested in a solution to this problem. Even as the other poster notes, reducing the weight does not have a lot to do with it, it just always gives a higher cost than what I see on the USPS site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
