Default Country When Creating An Account

Hi All

 

Cannot find anything in the contributions for this so am hope I can get a bit of guidence from y'all.

 

I am trying to work out how to make the United Kingdom the default country in the dropdown list when you create an account. I still want the other countries to be available so deleting the list in admin would not work.

 

I cannot seem to find how the countries <select> list is built, so if you could point me in the right direction, that would be great too.
