index.php changes ????

Hi

 

I'm a newbie and am looking for some clear and concise directions to modifying my catalogue 'index.php' file. I only have one product to sell and all I want to accomplish is a small text blurb with a large image of my product. I've opened the 'index.php' file in DW8 but quite frankly I'm a little overwhelmed by what I see.

Is there someone here with a wee bit of patience who is willing to help me through this process?

What kind of changes do you want to make? There are some instructions around, particularly in the Installation and Configuration. If you want to use a template system, check contributions and threads for either Basic Template System (BTS) or Simple Template Sytem (STS) and they will help you use an html editor to modify your php pages.

Thanks for the reply. All I really want to do with the index file is get rid of the text which ships with the download, add a small blurb and image about the book I'm selling.
