gaj Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I'm using windows hosting and have been banging my head against a wall all morning trying to install oscommerce. I should have given up by now but just can't cos I feel like I'm close. I'm keep getting this error whether I install through help or upload the files: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in C:\Domains\mysite.com\wwwroot\catalog\includes\con figure.php on line 35 noW the line looks like this: define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', 'C:\\\\Domains\\\\mysite.com\\\\wwwroot\\\\catalog \\\\\'); Is that how it should look?
usernamenone Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 oscommerce needs to be on a linux server. You will probably need to have them switch your hosting to a Linux or Unix server.

Jack_mcs Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 oscommerce needs to be on a linux server. You will probably need to have them switch your hosting to a Linux or Unix server.I just wanted to point out that oscommerce works fine on a Windows server. There are some situations that take a little more effort to solve but nothing fatal. I would recommend that, if given a choice, one should go with non-Windows servers, but it is not required.
