restore products

hello,

i setup an oscommerce site at www.perfumestash.com

 

i also have another site which i am trying to get to have the same products.

 

i tried backup database

and then tried to restore it at the new site but that didnt work

Can you provide a bit more information than "it didn't work"?

 

For example, are you getting an error message, is something missing, or what?

I'm sorry.

 

When i backup all the products from www.perfumestash.com and try to restore them through tool/backup/restore at the other shop, it just refreshes that page no errros nothing.

is the shop I am trying to restore to.

I think i've figured it out.

 

Since it would not let me restore from localhost, I went ahead and made a backup which then showed a listing in the database backup manager.

I logged in through ftp and uploaded the other DB manually and hit refresh on the browser, and the new one appeared too.

I then restored it.

 

The database it created for backup was

 

db_perfume2_beauty-20061203040428.sql 12/03/2006 04:04:28 224,585 bytes

 

The backup I restored was

 

db_perfume2_osc1-20061203035841.sql 12/03/2006 04:05:45 491,544 bytes Info

 

the db for the original site is named "osc1" as the second site's db instead of osc1 i did "beauty"..as it appears in both the file names above.

 

is that going to mess anything up? do i need to change anything?

The database name will be obtained from the includes/configure.php files so you will be okay.
