Jack_mcs Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 They both server the same purpose but the important difference between the two is that cookies require that option to be set on the visitors computer. Since they have gotten a bad rep over the years, many people run with that option off and won't buy from a site that requires them. So for that reason alone, in my opinion, they should not be used. In admin->configuration->Sessions, you will find the settings for them. Turn all of the settings there off except for Prevent Spiders.
