mod_gzip causing problems adding manufacturer name

Recommended Posts

I just installed mod_gzip on my local Apache server and suddenly whenever I try adding or editing a manufacturer the row is created in the database but no info is put in :!:

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Can you check your php.ini settings and make sure file_uploads is set to 1

file_uploads is on. Everything was working until I put in mod_gzip, I turn it off and things are fine again (I've left it off for now). Anyone have a clue as to why mod_gzip would keep me from posting to the database?

Have a look at this too see if this relates to your problem.

I haven't noticed anything similar to that, but thanks for the info (never know when stuff like that will come in handy).

Does this happen on other pages such as

categories / specials etc or just manufacturers?

Okay, I can add specials but so far nothing else works (can't add or edit catagories, products, or manufacturers). It got really fun when I tried adding another product. I hit preview and out it spat

I don't know, I turned it off :P I suppose that would be something worth checking though.

Let us know what you find :)

There is a bug report relating to mod_gzip where it creates a large temp file but this was on 2.1.

I will try installing mod_gzip on my test server to see if I get similar results :)

It's most likely my local setup. I'm running Apache 1.3.26, MySQL 3.23.48-nt, PHP 4.1.3-dev, and mod_gzip 1.3.19.1a all on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server box. Thankfully all this is just used as a development server so there is no real harm with not using gzip on my php pages. Just wanted to see if anyone else has run into similar issues.
