Chris369 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Any tips on how to do this? I can imagine its not easy so im not expecting anyone to come up with a one post answer but maybe some tutorials or something? Heres my site - www.game-played.co.uk And here is my shop - www.game-played.co.uk/oscommerce So on my homepage you have the different platform links, when you click PS2 i want it to show the PS2 games on the right where it currently says andreas05 - the simple solution! Dragon screenshot Sometimes, the simple things are the most beautiful. ... etc. Same with shopping cart and everything if possible. Thanks for any help :)
tapuahk Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Anyone? :/ Are we talking just the styles and incorporating links to categories? That should be easy... If we are talking full integration the main page is what the shop should look like... You will need to completely edit the index.php to match the style of your site... if you know html, it will just take your time to make the changes and change the style sheets to affect the changes. If you are unfamiliar with html and php, I suggest paying someone else to do it. Tapuahk
Chris369 Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 Well im not really sure what i need but i expect its probably the second option you posted. On my homepage, i have a PS2 link, when clicked i want it to show the results - hhttp://game-played.co.uk/oscommerce/index.php?cPath=2_19 - but i dont want it to be displayed using the osc layout, i want it to be displayed using the layout on my homepage. So when you say completley edit index.php, i take it that is the osc index and not my homepage index? But i would need to edit more than just the index wouldnt i? the cart, product view and everything else would need editing too wouldnt it?! That would take ages :(

That would take ages :( Yes, the second option takes much time... There are people who watch these boards and offer programming help with such matters... Believe me it is sometimes easier to let someone else create the style you want if you are still new at making mass changes to PHP files. There are PHP editors out there that can help but it you still need to know enough about html layout to affect the style you want. However, the best way is to muddle your way through the manuals and do it yourself. It will make it easier for you to make updates in the future. But if you have a deadline this is NOT an option. Chris369 Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 nah i dont have a deadline, this is just a little project im working on - not even sure if im going to go live with it! :) I think im going to look into other cart systems though, i think osCommerce is a little to complex for my needs, i just need something simple.

I used a teplate contibution. The layout is different as the only image i used from your site was the soldier in the left hand column.
