product - NOT CATEGORY - layout question

How do I get my products to go say 3 or 4 across as oppossed to from top to bottom?

 

I have several categories where I have over 20 products in each, and would like to have 3 products from left to roght, followed by another 3 products from left to right, etc..

 

If that's not possible how would I cut off the listing of products in any category at say 10 products, and have a "next ->" link on the bottom?

Make a search in the contribution section and you will find at least one contribution who does that what you want.
