New Products displayed in Columns

I would like to display my new products in columns (similar to how the sepcials are displayed) in order to get as many as possible on one page without the customer having to browse many pages.

 

I can only find a contrib for product listings by column, but that only displays search results etc that way.

 

Does anyone have advise for me :'(
