Is osCommerce right for me?

Howdy all,

 

A few days ago I stumbled across osCommerce while searching for something completely different!

 

Yet I believe this may be an answer to my prayers. Allow me a brief history if I may...A few years ago I developed a small MS ACCESS program that would allow my co-workers the ability to quickly order office supplies over our Campus Area Network. The idea was to go "paperless" and speed up the ordering process and maintain good record keeping!

 

The program worked like a charm in all the tests I did on my home net. Yet when I approached our IT department, I was stonewalled by over-educated chimps that didn't like the idea that someone lower on the corporate ladder could come up with such a great piece of software! (I'm not holding any grudge, no not me q:)

 

For a year now I have been looking for a simple way to provide my co-workers the same benefit without using company resources! I have had a small LAMP server for a few years now and had hoped to find something I could use in conjuction with it.

 

Enter osCommerce!

 

What a novel way to implement our little office supply ordering and they can even order stuff from the comfort of their own home! My only question is if any one has used or is using osCommerce with virtual web hosting software? I'm using ISPConfig and don't really want to change.

 

This really sounds like a god send...any feed back would be a big help!
