NancyL7 Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Hi, With every page from login on.. (save the product pages).. I get the Windows popup box saying that there are secure and insecure items on this page.. etc. I'm getting annoyed with it.. I'm sure my customers are too!! Things all work ok.. just that annoyance. Does anyone know what may be causing it? (Did some searching on the forums, but after 50+ posts.. I'm getting tired of looking!!) I can't tell you when it started.. I've a root SSL, not shared.. I have most of the common mods.. Ultimate SSL, CCGV(trad), MVS, Header tags, Paypal IPN Featured products Anyone have a clue? Please?!!!! Thanks!! Nancy

Nancy Could be something hard coded with http:// in front of it. Maybe you could provide a link?
tedmcdonald Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Yes, I have the same problem. For example, on all my https:// pages, there are links going to my catalog pages and those links are http:// links. Best Sellers has links, they are regular http:// links. Categories has links, they are regular http:// links., etc. All the images are coming from https:// All the forms have actions that are https:// Now, part of the problem may be that I have a shared SSL account. Any ideas? For example, on your site, when you are on a secure page, are all the links back to the catalog https:// links or regular http:// links? Mine are all http:// links. HElp :o
Jack_mcs Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 It's not links to your own pages that are causing the problem (unless they are coded incorrectly) but rather a link to an external site. tedmcdonald Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Howdy Jack Thanks for your reply. Well, that might apply to me, for my secure site is different from my regular catalog. As an example, imagine this: My regular site is http://regular.com My secure is https://secure-regular.com Whenever I go into a secure section of my site, I move from http://regular.com to https://secure-regular.com. Both sites are on the same server. I have my config set up accordingly. It has worked for years. However, I never noticed this problem with insecure items. When I am on https://secure-regular.com, the links on my categories, best sellers, products, etc., all point back to http://regular.com Is this my problem? If so, is there a fix? I can't be the only one with it. Best Regards, Ted
Jack_mcs Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 The only way to tell what the problem is, that I know of, is trial & error. Remove a portion of your site (like the footer). If the problem goes away, that is where the link is at. tedmcdonald Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 It was insecure Google Analytics code that was causing the pop-up. If you use Google Analytics, be sure to get the https version if you want to avoid the insecure message.
