dragondiscounts Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I have built websites before but only using html and pre-written scripts for things like counters or guestbooks. I am currently trying to set up an online store using osCommerce and need some information. The web host that I am using has osCommerce where it can be accessed from a control panel...first question is do I need to download the program onto my computer before trying to configure it and edit the files? Second question can someone point me to a better explanation on how to edit the index.php file that is basically the storefront page. I have tried several times and keep getting an error stating that I don't have permission to edit that page. Can someone also aim me at a good tutorial on php scripts to help me better understand what I am editing? Thanks in advance, Sandy

Thanks in advance, Sandy Simple, just upload the osc folder on to you web site and run the install setup from there but before start the installation, you must have to create the Database into your MySQL (empty Database with the tables and grant all permission to your main user name, do not use the root. This info might helps you... @hmer
