knott Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 www.abacus-ise.co.uk/shop Just gone live, very standard looking but hopefully functional. Lots more to be done, but comments appreciated. Thank you
bjbtexas Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 It's bright! I would add a couple of simple contributions to change the categories -> menu and customize the buy buttons to try and match the yellow. There are several companies who offer skins of ocs for a very nominal fee who could help on customizing if that’s not your forte. It how I started -- bought my first one and figured out the differences. Please review my site under "Industrial Supplies" Sigfas.com. Thanks, BJ
chooch Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Umm, very colourful and also but for the header image it looks very stock. If you are happy with the store then congrats to you but if you have time try designing it so it doesn't look anything like a stock site. Good Luck Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH
knott Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 well over the last few months I've added a few contibutions and a whole load of product - for the first 3 months sales have doubled every month... thats until now... its just gone dead - everything seems to be appearing on google ok - but I'm looking into ultimate urls. I've only changed the look very slightly and I'm working on a set of buttons. I quite like the standard look & feel for this site its an industrial topic so doesn't need to be consumer glossy in my opinion. So far the contribs used are:- google xml sitemap discount coupon codes register globals (moved to a new server with reg globals off) store feeds 3.1 also done a few mods from "deep inside oscommerce: the cookbook"
