Hi All,

I am just new in OSComm and here in the forum. I gotta make a online shop up and running within a weak for one of my client.

I installed OSComm locally. It was successful. Catalog just works fine. What I noticed, the administrator control panel is not protected by passwords. Does it safe enough?? I dont know if I missed any step during installation, if so, I can redo it.

Can anyone suggest me how should I proceed with PayPal IPN which is already created?? I have very short time in my hand.

No it wont be safe enough, anyone can get into your admin panel.

To password protect it you need to do this via your hosts admin panel.

Just follow the instructions in the paypal ipn module for installations its straight forward.

You have to use a .htacess file when your shop is installed on an server later on. This is usually configured in the webbhotell configuration and it will protect the admin catalog OSC dosent have any protection by default. But it is not a problem, keep working with the program and when you are to upload it you can edit this then.

Login into your control pannel via your hosts website look for password protect director, Select the Admin folder and give it a username and password.

then should anybody try and access your admin panel they will need the username and password

You can protect it , by either manually editing your.htaccess file....or using your control panel options to password protect a folder.
