JamesS Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I am having trouble in two areas of my site: 1. Are you supposed to recieve an email when someone purchases something so that you do not have to check your admin everyday? I made two test purchases and neither one of them sent an email to me (the seller) stating that I had I had received a purchase. (however the confirmation emails were sent to the buyer properly) If I am supposed to receive an order email, what would be holding it back? 2. I reloaded my entire site back to my host through FTP. Everything came up perfectly, except, in my admin/catalog page the headings are messed up. Instead of being the heading they state: HEADING_TITLE or TABLE_HEADING_CATEGORIES_PRODUCTS or TEXT_DATE_ADDED - etc. What am I missing that it not showing the heading appropriately. any help would be appreciated james
digipete Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 James, Item 1 - To get an email for each order placed, goto your Admin / Configuration / My Store page. About mid way down look for "Send Extra Order Emails To". Enter your email address here. (Yeah, I know, not very intuitive) If you do this, you will get the exact same message that your customer sees. As for item 2 - please put a store address here so I can see better what you're referring to. Pete

As for the second issue it is not on the storefront (frontend) it is in the admin section (Backend) Basically when I go to the catalog in the admin section and I am going to add a 'new product' all the headings and titles are not showing properly. It is almost like I am missing a page. For example: HEADING_TITLE HEADING_TITLE_SEARCH HEADING_TITLE_GOTO TABLE_HEADING_CATEGORIES_PRODUCTS TABLE_HEADING_STATUS TABLE_HEADING_ACTION Birth Year Sets State Quarters Novelty Items Gift Certificates Additional Items TEXT_CATEGORIES 8 TEXT_PRODUCTS 0 TEXT_DATE_ADDED 09/28/2006 TEXT_LAST_MODIFIED 11/17/2006 TEXT_SUBCATEGORIES 0 TEXT_PRODUCTS 35 It does not effect the functionality of the admin, but it is does affect the astetics (sp) of the pages. Not sure if this gives you any more info or not? james

I am now getting emails to the seller and they are working fine - but I still have not fixed the second question regarding the Headings on my admin -> catagories.php page: Here is a screen shot of my admin/catagories.php page from oscommerce Screen Shot Does anyone know how to get the proper headings to show? The headings on this page, or when I try to add a new product, are not working properly?

The reason for this is that the orders will be in different areas controlled by different people -- but each order will be in only one area but may have multiple products ordered in that area on the one P.O. Shelly When you enter the "Send Extra Order Emails To" in the My Store pages you can seperate additional emails with a ",". That way you can send multiple ones. To everyone else - I am still looking for help with the Headings on my Admin/catagories.php please see my earlier post for the 'screen shot' link...?

I'm sorry, but I wasn't clear in my question. I don't want multiple emails all the time. I only want the extra email to go to the specific manufacturer for that item. So, if there are two items A from manufacturer X and B from manufacturer Y, I want the email to go to X if the customer orders A and to go to Y if the customer orders B. I don't want X and Y to get all the emails whether A or B was purchased. All P.O.s will only have one manufacturer for all the items on that P.O. Shelly
