How to add a customer umber to customer informations ?

Hello,

I am currently using an oscommerce-2.2ms2-051113 package.

Is it possible to add a field in the registration form to get a specific customer number from an external customer database ?

If so, then for opening a session, a customer could use just its customer id rather than its email address.
