JWS Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 I'm doing some research on shopping cart systems, so this is a "pre-use" question. I have a fulfillment vendor who handles shipping our merchandise, some of which requires custom embroidering. They would like for me to be able to take the information from an order (product, CC info, etc) and then pass that along to them via e-mail. From there, they would ship the product and would only charge the credit card when the product had been made and was shipping (since they're custom made). Is there a way to accept this information via osCommerce and then be able to just pass it along via e-mail and still be able to provide order confirmations, etc.? Also, is there a way that the fulfillment vendor could update the shipping of products via some semi-admin interface? TIA! JWS
Mark Evans Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 Is there a way to accept this information via osCommerce and then be able to just pass it along via e-mail and still be able to provide order confirmations, etc.? If you use the standard cc payment module the cc number is stored in the database (not recommended) or you can have the middle digits sent to you by email and the rest stored in the database (A little bit more secure but not much) Also, is there a way that the fulfillment vendor could update the shipping of products via some semi-admin interface? sfatula Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 I would add that sending un-encrypted credit card info over the internet via email would be a *very* unwise move. Steve
