PJ2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Hi, Up until now I've used 1&1 e-shops - but it is very restrictive, even if you pay for the top package. Also you can't track stock which you seem to be able to with osCommerce. I've been doing web sites for people but all static. I have been asked to do some by new people, and though I haven't agreed yet - could certainly do with the money! I'm want to make sure I can deliver before I say Yes to anything. I've looked at osCommerce and it really does look very good. I do have a few questions: 1) Customers - can I add/Change the fields that are stored for customers i.e. add an extra field like nearest shop? 2) If the customers want an e-commerce site but also a normal website with information - and they want a CMS system so they can add their own information - ie via a basic editor not having to know html - can they do all this use osCommerce, or do they need to use a seperate control panel for the data. If so can you have two contral panels and can you share the customer db table? Thanks very much PJ

Thanks very much PJ I think you could do that but it would involve a lot of customisation. checkout the showcase for what others have done and PM for other alternatives I could suggest but can't post here. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- OSC user for years and no coder, so I've earned my stripes.
