Trying to add a new product and as part of that entering a new product image location e.g... images/whatever.GIF

I get a "no file uploaded" error message.

I have all of the read/write/execute options set correctly I think.

I recently upgraded my browser and have a feeling that has a lot to do with the problem... any idea what settings I need to change in my browser Or some other solution ?

Much appreciated....

When adding a product, it sounds as if you're physically putting the picture into the product description. That's fine, and it will generate an image if you've set the path correctly.

But the reason you're getting that error message is because it sounds as if next to the "Products Image" text, where there's a "browse" button, you're not uploading an image from your hard drive, which OSC requires. You can hard-code images in your product description, but always use that browse button to upload an image from your hard drive when creating/editing a product.

Good luck.

JP,

Hey there, I'm a new person who posted earlier in the day who is having trouble with images as well...when I do use the browse button and select something on my hard drive, it is not uploaded...the preview

page shows a broken image tag and when selecting the product from within a category, the phrase "image does not exist" appears where the image should...can you tell me what I might be doing wrong?

thx,

H

Are you sure that (a) your images are in either .jpg or .gif format, and that (B) the permissions on your (catalog)/images directory are set to 777 (readable/writeable/executable)? You can chmod them through your host's cpanel or your FTP utility.

Hi,

1.check that your image is not too large, optimise it against your image upload sizes in configuration / images eg; 100pxl x 100pxl - 300 x 300pxl depending on how large you want to view the image.(play around with your sizes)

2. check that you are using either a jpg file or gif

3. check that the image is in RGB not CMYK

you can change these options in photoshop editors, either adobe or coral. most image editors will help.

Hope that this helps

bad kitty
