Footer displays place holder only

I have changed the GIF from the bottom of the page (banners). Once I changed this to my image, all pages now show image place holder only. Hyperlink works and name is displayed (the name I have entered into OSCommerce tools>banners). I have looked at /includes/footer.php and /english/index.php, I do not see anything missing compared to my original files from installing OSCommerce. I know have seen a resolution before, however did not need it then.

Thank you in advanced

thought I would post the problem resolution here. I have resolved my own issue and believe it will be helpful to other new users/developers for OSCommerce.

If you place a "/" at the end of your file name, this will cause inability to read the file and display the image in your footer. I believe this will be the same for any image in PHP and OSCommerce.
