How do I install the Canada Post shipping module?

I downloaded canadapost2.3.zip and extracted it and everything... but the Netfirms FAQ isn't really helpful on where to upload it to. So I uploaded it anywhere and everywhere I could think of but kept getting a warning/error message. Can someone help me? Thanks!

I recommend using the Canada Post with Dimensions (mainly because it's the one I use and it's a bit more for my needs.

 

There is a set series of files and folders that you have to install a contribution in, and you just can't dump them any old place and expect them to work. Most have specific instructions on the install, and, if followed, work well.

 

If you haven't done too much work on your site, it may be better to do a clean re-install and begin with the contributions all over again (I did it several times before getting the hang of installing them so they didn't wipe out any other contribs.

 

Since you're, presumably, in Canada and will need the same sort of contribs as I have installed, I've done most of the work already and can help you out (along with other people here) to get your site up and running with minimal hassle.

BTW, from the number of double backslashes you have in the error messeges, I'd say that your main problem is that you don't have your catalog/includes/cofigure.php and your catalog/admin/includes/configure.php files set up right.

 

Might be better to tackle them first and see what the damage is with the contribs.

I've been uploading the canadapost.php thing to the shipping folder but nothing keeps working. Do I have to upload more then one file? I did what you suggested, deleted my store and started from scratch... I haven't done anything to the new store but tried to figure out the canada post module, and I can't get it to work. any suggestions?

If you are using the shipping module with dimensions, and plan on using Easy Populate, I have the easy populate file already set up for the extra Canada Post with Dimensions fields and have modified CPwD to charge a handling fee as a settable percentage of the shipping cost, in case either would be of any use to you
