queenie Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 Did you add a contribution such as Allprods, or All Products, or something? If so, are you sure you uploaded all the proper files? Hi, I have not added any contribution, just the template that I bought. Maybe I am not describing it very well, instead of a button maybe it is called a link. Where you hover over it with the cursor it changes to a hand and the following link is where it goes if selected : http://www.<my website>/shop/index.php?cPath=29 Does that help ?

jpweber Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 You're using one of those templates. I'm not a template person at all. Regardless, this template seems to have a "view all products" type of thing that's pointing to category 29. You don't have a category 29 in your categories. Personally, I would do one of two things: (1) Delete the "view all" if you can find it. Or Preferably, (2) Download the All Products Contribution and follow the readme/install instructions. Then, I would find out where this "view all" link is loaded within your template, and I would point it to allprods.php instead of what it's currently pointing at. Good luck. (IS IT OK FOR ME TO USE CONTRIBUTIONS GIVEN THE TEMPLATE I AM USING ??) As a lesson to me then, does cpath=?? mean that the ?? is always a category number, or does it just depend ? Sorry to ask what is probably a dumb question. many thanks.
jpweber Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Ok. Contributions can be (and usually are) more difficult to implement when using templates. cpath is basically your category ID. If you go into your admin tool, www.yoursite.com/admin, or yoursite.com/catalog/admin, or whatever, and you click on "catalog", and hover over (put your mouse over) those yellow folders that represent your categories, look in the bottom of the web browser while you're hovering. You will see your cpath (category ID) there. queenie Posted December 2, 2006 Author Posted December 2, 2006 Send me an e-mail (not a message) by clicking on my name, going to the e-mail link, and maybe I can help you. Thanks for the offer JP. I managed to find the refence to 'view all' in /shop/includes/header.php and have changed this to reflect a new category 'All Products' I have created - seems to work. Do I need to update 'header.php' anywhere else ?
jpweber Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Again Ang, as I'm unfamiliar with templates, I can't answer this. But don't fix something that isn't broken. If it works, you don't need to change anything else.
