graith Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Is there a demand for a contribution or possibly full site download for an OSC site that would give you Amazon Marketplace functionality? What I'm suggesting is that if you sell Watches (say) and you're willing to let marketplace vendors who have new or secondhand watches sell them through your site using your payment collection, but they ship the product and you take 10%. You pay the vendor after a month and ensure delivery using recorded delivery shipping which you can track reception. There'd need to be a lot of front end development and a lot of backend development, so it's not cheap to do but if there's a demand from more than a few people/sites, then it may be worth my while to write it. We'd have to make sure it was sufficiently different to avoid Amazon lawyers, but that explains the concept. PM me. Graith (England) Quote

rockt Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I know this is digging up quite an old thread, but this is something I would be very interested in doing. I was initially looking at the possibility of trying to do this through Joomla with a mash up of the virtuemart and marketplace (classifieds) modules, but I think OsCommerce would be better suited to it. The "customer add product" contribution is a step in the right direction towards what I was hoping for, with the key difference being that several customers add their own versions of the one 'static item', e.g. dvd/book. Is anyone up for the challenge!? :) Quote
eastbiz Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Well it would be great to have such functionality. I am interested if someone can program that. Quote Beach cruiser bicycles - Most bikes under $100. Affiliate opportunity ** Incorporate your business
