Resize Large Product Image in Popup

I have large images I've uploaded for my products.

In the popup window to view larger image for product, the images get clipped off if they're too big.

 

Isn't there a way to resize them to fit the popup window?

Is there a script that will do that? Or some lines of code to change somewhere?

 

Otherwise, is there someplace to change the maximum size for product images?

I believe there is a stylized popup window contribution that resizes the popup based on the image size. It also adds background and other pieces to the window. That might be a place to start.
