Guest Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Greetings all, I'm working with a fresh OS Commerce install. I'm not sure where to go next, as my store needs to: 1) Sell 6,000 + digitally downloadable products. 2) Not have tax or shipping (since it's digital products). Right now, it appears that I would have to do single uploads per product (yikes!). I am interested in being able to dump all 6,000 + products (.ZIP files) into a single folder on my server and have another folder of images portraying each product (one image per, [possibly two for 'showcased' products] which would have an identical name as the .ZIP file except with a .JPG extension) and have the catalog "recognize" that the two products go together -- that is, the image and the product would match up with one another to create a single product, and details per product could be added later on, either manually or via batch editing (equal keywords/descriptions per category, for example). The prospect of creating individual products for all 6,000 + of my actual pre-existing products is not only daunting, but it's totally out of the question for me at this juncture. Is such an auto-population of products possible with OSC? Thanks in advance for any light that anyone can shed on this for me. Thanks! --Melissa
