What else I need to do to use this service and how much are the charges? Is there any other cheaper way to accept the credit cards and security certificate online? Even after having authorized.net do I have to purchase SSL and "merchant account"? Can any expalin me how to go about accepting the credit cards online? Thanking you in advance. ghorpade
tward Posted September 20, 2002 Posted September 20, 2002 I just went through this on a site of my own... Here is what I did: 1) I didn't purchase a SSL.. Just used the shared SSL that came with my hosting account. So far things have been working just fine with that. Mind you I think it would look a lot more porfessional if I was using SSL under my domain name. 2) I have authorizenet... Did you actually sign up for the account through one of their resellers? You'll have to do that... just activating it in the admin area is not enough. Once you have the account with Authorize... they'll give you a username. Put that username in the same area you activated the authorizenet in the payments module under the admin area. 3) You might also consider using PayPal for credit card payments. That account is free and it is supported on osCommerce. I have both on my site.. Authorizenet and paypal... Good luck! -T
