Hi,

 

I am having trouble logging in to the admin section of the shop.

 

My problem is that i haven't acessed it in weeks and i have no idea what the password is.

 

I seem to remember the password was sent to me in an email but when my system crashed it was deleted so i no longer have that email.

 

In short, how do i reset the password?

are you using .htpsswd and .htacess? if you are, you can re-create the username and password like you did before overright the other files

Please excuse my ignoance here.

 

I have both those file types.

 

I when i open the password file within .htpsswd it has the user name of admin but then some "random" letters/numbers and no actual word. Is this like a default password?

You will have to generate a username/password string. Go to google and search for htpasswd generator and click the first link. Copy and paste the generated code into that file and you should be good to go.
