Hi, I'm using oscommerce to enable visitors to purchase online Gift Cards from a restaurant in $1.00 increments.

I've added the gift card as a product and assigned a $1.00 value, which is working ok - in that customers may add the card to their shopping cart and then adjust the quantity to reflect the proper total value from there. Problem is, if they click "continue" shopping to purchase an additional card, it does not add a new card, but increases the value of the first card by $1.00.

Ive just started, but you can see a rough draft at http://216.147.50.161/store/

Any suggestions would be appreciated, or advice if there is an easier all around solution.

What I would LOVE is the ability to present a customer with an empty field (text box) where they can type in the total value of the gift card and add it to the cart with one click. Then return and buy another card if they want.

Thanks!

Kim

I just went in to test what you were saying, selected 10.00 card and added then clicked continue shopping, and selected a 25.00 card and it showed as 2 separate cards in cart.

So not sure what you are mening, or u have managed to fix the problem?

I "kind of" fixed it. My client was set on offering certificates in $1.00 increments. Problem is if you are figuring the value using "quantity" (10 x $1.00) you cannot then use quantity again to determine the number of certificates. I did an Internet search and found that most companies (except very large ones like Amazon) use various set amounts on their certificates, thereby making the amount an option, not a quantity. I spoke with my client and they agreed to use set amounts.

Thanks!
