Email Registration (Key) Code

After downloading a free trial version of my software a user may switch to a full version with payment (PayPal). They would need a registration code or "key" which will be entered into the appropriate space in the software. This would activate the product. The problem I have is,, can osCommerce send an email with a specific registration code upon payment for a specific product?? Would it be possible to add another table to mySql with the information and configure email options in osCommerce to do so, or has anyone got a better idea??
