gravyface Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I'm looking for a merchant account/payment gateway alternative to PayPal. So far, they all seem to have monthly fees on top of the transaction fees, and since the stores I develop will more than likely be low volume, I'd rather not have a monthly fee. I thought PayPal would be perfect until I actually started using it.
Jack_mcs Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 If you want the option of staying on the site, you have to pay for it. If you want a free (only per item fees), paypal is the best choice. Jack Well, WPP allows you to keep the checkout process strictly on your site but its US only. Regardless, you might as well shop around at that point because the rates are comparable to all the other payment gateway/merchant account combos out there (~$20 a month, .20 to .50 cents per transaction or % of transaction amount). I'm looking for middle ground here: I don't mind the customer going to PayPal's site and back again but without the constant "sign up for PayPal!" badgering and an Auto-Return function that works for non-PayPal customers. It's just greed: the only reason why the AutoReturn doesn't work for non-PayPal customers is because they want to stick one more "sign up now!" form in the already-confused customers' face before they leave. To me, this is unacceptable.
