not getting emails

I hope someone can help me quickly. I've been struggling to get my site up for 3 months and now I've really broken it! basically the site says it has sent emails to notify me of orders and to notify customers (me in disguise for testing) but I'm not receiving these at all - I've tried both the sendmail and SMTP settings - no diff. Also, when I try to send a newsletter, I get an error message telling me I need the newsletter module, but I have the newsletter module.

I'm confused, a little desperate and thinking of dumping it all and starting again from scratch - but not certain how to even do that - will the database muck up???

I found it best to use an email address other than the domain you are using for the shop. For me this was because I am using Gmail hosted email for the domain, and Gmail have some antispam protection which stops my server sending from the same domain.

wasn't at my best yesterday - very fed up - so left out the info that the emails I'm sending to are all aol - wondered if that was an issue - in the admin/sessions, the only thing I have set to true is force cookie use.

 

now other bits are broken too - installed SSL certificate yesterday and now can't check out at all - get 404's on checkout process - have changed both configure files appropriately - wondered if there's anything I missed

i am having the same trouble....

 

ive been using oscommerce for about a year, but recently the emails sent from the os do not reach me.... emails like comformation, or through the contact us option.

 

does anyone have any ideas?

 

i have tried to changing the email address from [email protected] to a [email protected] address etc..... with no luck....

 

anyone got any ideas???
