affiliate selling

I feel really stupid can someone guide me please..

 

I am new at oscommerce, although am succesfully making changes with a few frustrations. I am wanting to add affiliate sites / products into the categories as if i am selling the product but the buyer gets redirected to the affilliate instead; affilliate products to be sold amongst my own products.

 

Does this addon allow for this? (osC Affiliate v2.61_fix)

 

If not do you have any suggestions for me. I am new at php. so please explain to me in simple terms. 9step by step)

 

If this addon does this where do i install it? does it get installed into the sql database? or in a php directory. can anyone help me ?

well that 2.61 fix is a little fix for OSC Afiliate. Make sure you download the full package, it's a few lines lower than that.

 

OSC Affiliate allows you to employ others to sell your products. They provide links to your site, to your categories, or to specific products. If a customer they refer buy's something, the software generates them a commision, which you pay them.

 

Before you rush head on into that one, make a test store with a separate database, and install the osc affiliate on that. Play around with it and see if that's what you want. That's what i did. Tonight i'm installing oscaffiliate on my real shop.
