BUT NOW button not needed for some products

I'm new here so be gentle :blush:

 

I have a range of fishing lures on my oscommerce page which, naturally, have the buy now button assigned to each of them.

 

I also have all the different coloured skirts (a part of the lure) listed on the site as well (under a different catagory) but I need them there for display purposes only. Is there a way I can remove the buy now option for the skirts?

easy way is to set them out of stock.

personaly I have a structure that is far more complex, and did not properly document that for it to become a contribution.

But the buy now button still appears right?

never tried that out, since I do no longer need that functionality in either one of my sites, since I got my own alternative now.

I currently do not show my stock online, am planning to get that done someday,

and when I do, I want people to be able to place backorders as well.

If I got some spare time I might see If I can turn what I got into a contribution (might show nice on the left, a my contributions link :D).
