New payment module and MODULE_PAYMENT_INSTALLED configuration key

Hello!

 

I have just finished writing a payment module, it looks like everything is fine, but for some reason, when I install the module in the payment module admin, it doesn't add this module at the end of MODULE_PAYMENT_INSTALLED configuration key in the database. So the payment option does not show up in the payment options during checkout, but when I enter it manually into the database, it works, it shows up, I can use the payment module and everything works.

All other standard (and even some non-standard) modules are always added into database when installed and removed when uninstalled. I have also noticed that when my module is installed and I edit the module options, it is even again removed from the MODULE_PAYMENT_INSTALLED and I have to add it there manually again.

 

What am I doing wrong? I have created the module from the paypal module and the install function is almost identical, so I'm pretty much out of ideas.

 

I hope this hasn't been discussed already, but I have tried hard to find something about this and I haven't found anything.
